PRENSANTATION

Today we start our first prensataion.....ist group are Aini, Zura and Jiha...They present about Pronouns.
The second group present about determiners present by Mira, Ila and Edlina.....

PRONOUNS

Functions of pronoun
  • To replace nouns

- as the subjects of sentences 
- Subject Pronouns = I, You, He, She, It, We, You,They
- example:  The architect has successfully created a design that is extraordinary.

  • As the objects of verb and prepositions
- Object Pronouns = Me, You, Her, Him, It, Us, You, Them
- example: My friends treated me to lunch today

  • To replace an object which refers to the subject
- Reflexive Pronouns = My self, Yourself, Herself, Himself, Itself, Ourselves, Yourselves, Themselves
- example : You need to take good care of yourself when you are abroad

  •  To lik phases
- Interrogative Pronouns = Who, Whom, Which, Whoever, Whomever, Whichever
- example: Jim who scored highest in Mathemathics, actually lost to draw

  • To show possesions
- Posessive Pronouns = Mine, Yours, His, Hers, Its, Theirs, Ours
-Example : Group A has submitted their assignment. Ours will be sent to you soon.

DETERMINERS
Help to identify and use to show quantity.


       There are 2 main group of determiners

  • Group A- Help to identify thing

- Articles               : a/an,the
- Possessive        : my, your, his, her, its, our, your, their, one’s, whose
- Demonstratives : this, these, that, those


  • Group B- most group B determiners are quantifiers

 -  Some, any,no
  -  Eachevery, either, neither
  -  Much, many, more, most a little, lessleasta fewfewerfewest;
  -  enoughseveral
  -  Allbothhalf
  - Whatwhateverwhichwhichever
  - Onetwothree  



During the night class we learnt about skimming and scanning.

SKIMMING
Skimming refers to process of quickly identifying the main idea within the passage to get an overall impression of its content.

SCANNING

Scanning is a reading skill used to find specific information quickly. Scanning also involves  moving your eyes quickly down the page seeking specific word and phrases
